HUNGARY FOR BUSINESS

David, Lisa and I had the pleasure of visiting our opposite numbers from the Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Budapest late last year and it’s time for the return visit.

Twelve business people from a range of industries - machinery, manufacturing, export-import, banking, ICT, healthcare, environmental & fire protection - will be in St Albans on Thursday 20th April and we're going to showcase some of the things we do really well.

From 10.30am - 1pm we will be at Oaklands College where Commercial Director Nicole Sadd has kindly arranged a tour of Hertfordshire's finest further education establishment - 1,500 courses, 10,000 students and lovely little lambs - after which there will be a chance for you to meet and talk to the delegates in a informal environment.

The delegation will then move on to see our friends at BRE (who will play host 2.30pm - 5pm) where they will see the world leading multi-disciplinary building science centre, nestled just inside our District. If you have not visited this is your opportunity to see how they are building a better world together and meet our international colleagues at the same time.

The day will be rounded off with a Platinum Point hosted networking event from 6pm - 8pm at Verulam Golf Club, with a rather special speaker. Nikki King OBE set up Isuzu Truck UK in 1996 in a crowded male dominated marketplace and she built it into a company that at its height had a £35million turnover. She was the subject of Channel 4’s Undercover Boss, appears on BBC1’s Question Time, is a Radio 4 regular (Any Questions, The Bottom Line, Saturday Live) and took part in a lively debate about female quotas in the boardroom at the Oxford Union. I for one can't wait to have a chat......

I am extending an open invitation to any business leaders in our district to come and meet our Hungarian friends to talk business - no pressure, no hidden agenda, just an opportunity to talk to like-minded commercial people with a focus on sustainable growth and building relationships at any or all of these events.

There is no charge for either the morning or afternoon sessions but numbers are limited so please register here and the evening session is a snip at £25, please book here.

Please get in touch if you have any questions, thanks.
