An Award-Winning Venue

We’re delighted to be partnering with valued Chamber member Helen Whittington and the Play Putt team, who recently celebrated being named Best Independent Venue at the Competitive Socialising Awards / Gamechangers 2026.

Family-owned Play Putt has transformed a previously vacant St Albans unit through an investment of more than £300,000, creating a nine-hole retro crazy golf venue complete with karaoke, pool, electronic darts, street food and a licensed bar.

As an independent local business, Play Putt has built a strong connection with the community, regularly testing new events and collaborating with local organisations and businesses. From singles nights and karaoke events to charity support and corporate bookings, the venue has continued to develop its offer while creating new reasons for people to come together.

Its partnership with Tesco Clubcard Rewards has also helped take the Play Putt name to a national audience, while strong customer ratings across Tripadvisor, Google and Facebook and growing corporate bookings reflect the personal hospitality at the heart of the business.
