Christmas Comes Early for St Albans Chamber of Commerce Members

Team Unity (part of the St Albans Dragons’ Apprentice Challenge) and St Albans Chamber of Commerce are delighted to announce that the first annual Chamber Christmas Jumper Day will take place on Friday 8 December 2017. Chamber members and local businesses are invited to wear their Christmas jumpers to work on Friday 8 December to help raise money for local charity Small Acts of Kindness, who source and distribute gifts to help older people keep warm over the cold winter months.

Team Unity from Year 12 at St. Albans Girls’ School are taking part in this year’s St Albans Dragons’ Apprentice Challenge, a community initiative from the Centre for Voluntary Service (CVS) now known as Community Central St. Albans. Participants are challenged to use their business and entrepreneurship skills to turn £100 seed capital into a minimum of £1,000 for their charity. Team Unity are working with their Dragon, FL1 Digital to raise much needed funds for Small Acts of Kindness.

Lisa Bates-Wallis, Executive Director of the St. Albans Chamber of Commerce describes her excitement at the wonderful opportunity “I am amazed by the dedication and hard work these young ladies are putting in to help such a great charity and some of the most vulnerable people in our community. I am delighted to be working with them and invite as many people as possible to join our Chamber Christmas Jumper Day.” Businesses and individuals can sign up to take part in the Chamber Christmas Jumper day for a minimum donation of £25 per company or £1 per individual and can ENTER here  and click on the donate button.
