Ken Jenkins awarded an MBE!

Ken Jenkins, former president and life member of the St Albans Chamber of Commerce, has been awarded an MBE in the 2009 New Year's Honours List.

Ken Jenkins has been awarded an MBE for his life long campaigning in the local community. Ken was Mayor of St Albans in the early 1980s and went on to become an Honorary Alderman in 1984. His many community and business involvements include St Albans Counselling Centre where hw has been both chairman and vice-chairman, Harpeden Trust, where he was president from 2001 to 2007, Harpeden Colts FC where he has been vice president since 1996 and St Albans Enterprise Agency where he was formerly chairman. Ken has been involved with the Harpenden Day Centre since 1976, was president for 8 years and has been chairman of the board since 1998.

We send our congratulations to Ken and wish him a wonderful day when he and his wife, Jo, visit the palace to receive his long overdue MBE.
