“Thank you” Lisa

On June 7th Lisa Bates-Wallis formally stands down as Executive Director of the Chamber to pursue new business interests. It will mark the end of an era in which Lisa has been instrumental in raising the profile of the Chamber as an authoritative and positive voice for business.

Lisa has made a phenomenal contribution in her 14 years with us. Much of the Chamber’s success can be put down to her tireless energy, enthusiasm, commitment and powers of persuasion! The high regard in which the Chamber is held is due in no small measure to Lisa’s efforts in building up excellent and constructive relationships with the organisations with whom we interact. Thank you, Lisa, the service you have given to the Chamber has been exceptional. And, in your new role, I know that you will continue to be a great advocate for the Chamber.

On behalf of the Directors and the Members, I wish Lisa every success in her new business venture and welcome ‘Lisa Bates Marketing’ as a new Chamber Member! Lisa, at long last you can just come along to the events and enjoy them without having to organise them as well!

Lisa leaves the office in the very capable hands of Anna Venetico and Emma Fisher who many of you will already know. Anna and Emma have been providing sterling support to Lisa in the running of the Chamber Office and activities over the last couple of years.

I know Anna and Emma will continue Lisa’s excellent work, supporting the Directors and ensuring that the Chamber delivers a varied and beneficial programme of events and networking opportunities to you, our Members. Anna and Emma are keen to get to know you all over the forthcoming weeks and months.

Lisa’s last day at the office coincides with the concluding event of this year’s Business Festival - our BBQ at The Plough at Sleapshyde. So, the BBQ is also a ‘farewell’ party for Lisa, while welcoming her as a new Chamber Member! It would be wonderful to see as many of you as possible at The Plough to thank Lisa for all she has done and to wish her good fortune as she embarks on her new venture. I look forward to seeing you there.
