President's Message - June 2019

Posted: 27th June 2019, 11:34am

Many of you will already have met Anna Venetico and Emma Fisher, the dynamic team now heading up the Chamber Office, but this is my opportunity to introduce them formally to you.

Anna and Emma have been a vital part of the office, supporting Lisa, for the last 2 years and now take over the reins, working with the Directors, to provide a varied programme of events and networking opportunities to ensure we continue to be to the go-to organisation for local business.

Emma’s principal responsibility is Business and Membership and Anna’s is Events and Sponsorship. Both were largely responsible for the success of the Business Festival, and already they have been putting in great work on our autumn programme of events.

Prior to joining the Chamber, Emma was an IDM qualified digital marketeer. She started her career at the BBC before moving in to digital marketing for major household brands such as Orange and Tiscali. She has a wealth of experience managing customer communications strategies and affiliate programmes to deliver challenging acquisition and sales targets.

Anna’s background has been largely in the City, working as a Multilingual Executive Assistant for CEOs and other senior executives with an international focus within a range of industries including Banking, Television and Property.

Anna and Emma are keen to get to know the members better and both look forward to meeting you at our events over the coming months.

I also want to take this opportunity to urge you to submit your nominations for this year’s Chamber Community Business Awards. So many people in our business community are achieving great things and/or going that extra mile: we want to recognise and celebrate those individuals and firms who are making a difference. You will find full details, including an easy to complete nomination form, on the Chamber website - But hurry, the closing date for nominations looms large.

I look forward to seeing you at our July events, but if the lure of sunny climes will have whisked you away by then, have a great summer break, and we’ll catch up soon.

Alastair Woodgate
Chamber President
