President's Message - January 2021
To those of you I haven’t yet spoken to or seen on Zoom, I wish you a Happy New Year.
While the new lockdown has, for the time being, curtailed some innovative outdoor networking opportunities we had planned, we will continue our programme of useful and interactive online sessions. It was great to catch up with many of you in our informal networking hour on Wednesday.
It looks as though the first half of this year, at least, year will be a tough one for small businesses. There's nothing like talking to other business people for sparking new ideas and refining old ones and making the effort to join in the Chamber activities can, I hope, help inspire you and your business. The Chamber is here to support you, champion its members and support the local community.
Next Wednesday 20 January, at 10.00am, we will have our annual opportunity to hear from St Albans District Council and interrogate its leaders on past, present and future council activities. Council Leader Chris White and Chief Executive Amanda Foley will provide an update on the Council’s work and priorities. This will include plans on the Council’s work to support businesses and the local economy, reflecting the ongoing COVID -19 crisis. This is always an informative presentation. I hope you can join us.
