President's Message - July 2021
With an announcement about the potential relaxation of the
rules for meeting in groups due imminently, we can hopefully look forward to
in-person events again. The Chamber team has been busy working on a variety of
events which will be taking place over the summer so please do check out the events page on our website for more details.
I am particularly excited about the launch of our annual Community Business Awards. It has been one of the most challenging years the Chamber has faced but there is still so much to celebrate in our local business community. Is there a person within your organisation or a business that works with you that has caught your attention and you think should be recognised? Perhaps it’s because of the excellent service they have provided or maybe it's a company which has flourished despite these adverse times? We would love to hear from you.
Nominating is easy and straightforward. You can nominate yourself or your business or put forward someone who you feel has made an outstanding contribution. We don’t require an essay, only who and why you’re nominating. Once the nominations close on Friday 13 August, the judges (our generous sponsors and Chamber Board members) for each category will select the finalists and meet with them before deciding on our winners. The achievements of all our finalists will be celebrated at our awards ceremony on 11 November this year.
So get your thinking caps on, head to our website and nominate your heroes or a business you admire to make sure they are not just appreciated by you but the whole community!
